Polina Kornilova
During my A levels, I developed a passion for precision medicine and computational biology. I first joined the group as a summer intern in 2020. I completed my A level qualifications in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in 2021. I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of East Anglia, and I study on the BSc of Natural Sciences course with a Placement Year.
I enjoy learning about bioinformatics, network analysis and disease mechanisms on the molecular level. My current project focuses on the identification of critical, cell-specific paralogue genes that change cellular signalling in ulcerative colitis.
In addition to my academic interests, I have many hobbies. I love playing the piano, singing, and painting. I was raised in the north of Russia, so I came over to the UK with a great love for skiing and ice skating. I also enjoy travelling and exploring new cultures.
